As young Muslimahs who have searched high and low for simple, high-quality everyday abayas and modest occasion wear, we’ve noticed a gap in the market. We wanted to change that, so we opened Mizaaj.

Our story is not as exciting as others, but it’s one of our favourites nonetheless! Our journey began with a seemingly casual conversation over iMessage one morning, where we spontaneously texted each other and said, “We should start an abaya business.” The whole idea seemed really far-fetched at first, but we knew there was potential here. So, we made the intention and opened our shared bank account to invest into this new and exciting venture.

It felt so unrealistic, but we reminded ourselves (like literally texted each other ->), that with the combination of tahajjud and tawakkul, anything is possible. What started as a pipe dream turned into a Tahajjud duaa come true. Our endless duaas of istikhara and quiet prayers in the early hours of the morning serve as a true testament to one of our favourite Qur’anic ayahs: وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ٱدۡعُونِيٓ أَسۡتَجِبۡ لَكُمۡۚ - “And your Lord says, ‘So call upon Me, I will respond to You” [40:60].

Our carefully curated abayas come directly from the heart of modest fashion - Kuwait. We realised there was nothing quite like them here in the UK, so we made sure to bring that unique touch to your doorstep.

And here’s the thing: we’re all about Islamic modesty. That’s why you won’t find any fitted abayas or belts in our collection. Every abaya is meticulously designed to offer a comfortable yet modest fit that stays true to our Islamic principles.

This is more than just a business for us. It is a journey in our faith, an affirmation of our pride in being recognised as Muslimahs, and a celebration of true modesty. We sincerely pray that Allah SWT rewards you immensely for being a part of it!
